Final Fantasy 7 Revelation hot springs feature gives a permanent HP boost
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation includes a hot springs feature that permanently increases party members' max HP and unlocks bathing suit skins for Cloud.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation features hot springs that permanently increase party members' max HP and unlock bathing suit skins for Cloud, Barret, Cid, and Vincent Valentine. The game is the concluding part of Square Enix's remake trilogy and launches on April 8, 2027. The hot springs gameplay mechanic was unveiled at SDCC Málaga, with subsequent gameplay footage shared on social media by the developer.
When visited, these hot springs provide a permanent increase to a character's maximum health points. This optional leisure content adds a new layer of character progression outside of the main combat and story sequences. The feature is part of the broader content revealed for the final chapter of the remake project.
Character skins and customization options detailed
Bathing suit skins for Cloud, Barret, and Cid are shown in the released gameplay footage. These outfits are unlocked through participation in the hot spring events. Red XIII can also use the hot springs, but his appearance does not change significantly due to his canonical lack of clothing.
Vincent Valentine, a newly playable party member in the trilogy, prefers to bathe in his usual combat attire. His inclusion confirms that not every character will receive a dedicated bathing suit skin, offering variety in the customization options available.
Developer insights on hot springs and player experience
Director Naoki Hamaguchi explained the thinking behind the new feature. He stated that each hot spring offers a different glimpse into the characters’ everyday lives, and the outfits featured in these events can also be unlocked as skins.
Hamaguchi had previously told IGN that players can opt to automatically level up characters to skip grinding. This optional auto-leveling system, confirmed last month, is designed to reduce repetitive gameplay for those who wish to focus on the narrative. The hot springs serve a dual purpose, providing both character-driven moments and tangible gameplay benefits.
