Call of Duty's The Haunting Event Launches September 17
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 06 begins The Haunting event on September 17, adding new maps, modes, and a Doom crossover.
The Haunting event arrives in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone on Thursday, September 17. This seasonal update introduces supernatural themes across multiplayer, Zombies, and battle royale modes with new maps, limited-time modes, and a crossover with Doom.
According to a PlayStation Blog post, the event spreads its content throughout Season 06. It brings themed maps like the blood-soaked Bloodstead and the new Arctic facility Quantum to multiplayer. The update also launches new weapons and events, including a Doom collaboration with its own event pass and store bundle.
Multiplayer and Zombies Updates
Multiplayer receives two new maps and two limited-time modes. Quantum is a brand-new map set in a quantum computing facility under Arctic ice. Bloodstead is a Halloween-themed retooling of an existing Homestead map, now featuring blood-red water and horrors.
The limited-time modes are T.E.D.D. Trials and the returning Hordepoint. T.E.D.D. Trials is a new 6v6 playlist that cycles through five trials on three classic Zombies maps: Roadkill from Ashes of the Damned, Inferno from Kowakujō, and Lost from Totenreich. Players use Ray Guns against zombie hordes. Hordepoint modifies Hardpoint by adding zombies that attack both teams on a neutral point but side with the team controlling the objective.
In Zombies, a new survival map called Tenshu launches, set in an ancestral castle. The Rex Infernus map gets a Directed Mode for quest guidance and a Starting Room challenge that confines players to one house. The Rogue Run mode adds two new maps, Paradox Junction and Kowakujō, alongside three new pedestal rewards.
A Super Easter Egg awaits players who complete every Main Quest in all Round-Based Zombies maps. Pumpkin-headed zombies will also appear in all Rogue Run playlists as part of The Haunting.
Warzone's Haunted Hollow and New Modes
Warzone's new area is Haunted Hollow, a nighttime variant of Haven's Hollow filled with occult activity. Key features include a Ghost Train that players can phase into reality for loot, Trick or Treat Pumpkins that grant loot or tricks, and newly revealed ruins under a drained pond.
A new limited-time mode called Giant Infected will launch in Haunted Hollow. It pits 64 players against each other, with eight starting as Infected who must convert all Survivors. Survivors can win by constructing a DNA Bomb to stop the outbreak. New Winstreak Challenges for Universal Weapon Camos and a new season of Resurgence Ranked Play are also coming.
Battle Pass, BlackCell, and New Content
The Season 06 Battle Pass offers progression rewards like Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins. The premium BlackCell purchase includes the new Revenant Operator and a Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint, with extra variants unlockable via challenges.
The Doom crossover provides themed rewards through a Doom Event Pass and the Tracer Pack: Doom Demonic Essence Bundle in the store. New weapons include the VMP SMG and the TR51 Para Assault Rifle in the Battle Pass. The Arcblade Melee Weapon, Roc 20mm Special, and three new Attachments will be available through in-game Events and Weekly Challenges. The update is live on PS5 and PS4.
