Weekend Deals on Switch 2, Granblue Fantasy, and Fire Emblem
A roundup of current discounts on video games and hardware, including a refurbished Nintendo Switch 2, price cuts for Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless
Several notable video game deals are available this weekend. The discounts cover hardware, new expansions, and physical game releases.
Hardware and Console Discounts
A refurbished Nintendo Switch 2 console is available for $449.99 from retailer Woot. The seller describes these as Grade A Refurbished units, which have been inspected and are guaranteed to have minimal cosmetic damage. They have also passed a full diagnostic test to ensure like-new functionality, and all original accessories are included.
Game and Expansion Savings
Multiple games and expansions are currently discounted. Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok, a major expansion for the 2024 RPG, is 14% off for PS5 at Amazon. The base game alone is noted for offering over 100 hours of content.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is priced at $39.99 on Amazon, which the source calls one of the best prices seen since its release. IGN's review scored the pair of remakes a 9/10, stating they "beautifully conclude this trilogy, recapturing the retro magic of the originals while giving them a modern facelift."
Physical copies of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream are also on sale at Woot. The game received a 7/10 score from IGN, with the review calling it a "deeply funny and equally personal civilization simulator" but criticizing its "ridiculous sharing restrictions."
Limited-Time Physical Edition Offers
A pre-launch discount is available for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. The physical edition is $69.97 at Amazon, a $10 saving off its planned post-launch price of $79.99. This offer is only available until September 16. The source speculates it could be the biggest Fire Emblem game yet.
For The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Switch 2 Edition, Woot has physical copies for $59.99. IGN's review of this edition suggested the performance upgrades make it worthwhile for owners of the original, calling it "the best place to jump in" for new players.
New Pre-Orders Live
Pre-orders are now open for Fate/Extra Record, which has a release date set for the end of January. XSEED is publishing the game in North America. The source notes the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be available on a physical cartridge.
