We Were Here Tomorrow Launches in October
Total Mayhem Games reveals new details about the cooperative puzzle adventure We Were Here Tomorrow, coming to Xbox Series X|S in October.

We Were Here Tomorrow is launching for Xbox Series X|S in October. The cooperative puzzle game from Total Mayhem Games will challenge partners to communicate across time and space within a mysterious research facility.
Creative Director Martín Mittner stated the team is taking the series into new territory while keeping its cooperative core. The adventure begins as a rescue mission in Antarctica that goes wrong, stranding players in a retro-futuristic facility run by Norček Industries.
A Mysterious Facility and Its Director
Players are greeted by Director Kathleen Bowe, a scientist-turned-manager who oversees the facility. She appears charismatic and helpful but may not be telling the whole truth. Norček Industries is researching an interdimensional rift with potentially enormous consequences. The players' role in understanding this rift becomes increasingly important as they explore.
Time-Bending Cooperative Puzzles
One new area is the Greenhouse. It contains hidden references to past games in the series. The twist is that the two players experience the space in different times. Actions in the past affect the future. Players must use walkie-talkies to describe their worlds and figure out how their actions are connected. This forces careful communication about cause and effect.
Not all challenges separate players. In the Office of Tomorrow, partners navigate a shared space where the rules of gravity and architecture are distorted. This area focuses on traversal and creative tool use, evolving the series' formula while maintaining cooperation.
Classic Communication Challenges
Communication puzzles remain central. In the Optics Lab, players can see each other but are not in the same physical space. They have different information and must communicate clearly to solve puzzles. Mittner noted that proximity and partial visibility do not make puzzles easier. They can create new opportunities for misunderstanding. The Optics Lab is one of the more difficult puzzles in the game's first act.
Venturing Into the Unknown
Later, players will encounter the rift at the heart of Norček's research. Crossing its threshold leads to an area called Beyond the Rift, a step into the unknown unlike anything else in the game. The developers are keeping details sparse to preserve the sense of discovery.
Mittner emphasized that the game is about the relationships players build through cooperation. The team creates the worlds and puzzles, but the moments of confusion, clarity, and celebration belong to the players. Progress requires listening, describing, creative thinking, and, above all, communication. We Were Here Tomorrow is available to wishlist now.
