Xbox has released the full list of achievements for the upcoming prequel, Gears of War: E-Day. The game launches on October 6, 2026, and is described as a brutal origin story set fourteen years before the original Gears of War.

According to the source, the game will feature a campaign following Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the first Locust emergence. Players can tackle it alone, in two-player split-screen on console, or with up to four players online. The game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and targets 4K resolution at up to 60 frames per second on compatible displays.

Pre-Order Bonuses and Beta Access

Pre-ordering Gears of War: E-Day grants several bonuses. These include early access to an open beta, an Xbox gift card, and the Exfil Dom Character Skin and Exfil Weapon Skin Set for use at launch. The source states the open beta's early access period is expected to run from August 6-10, 2026, though dates may vary by platform. The pre-order offer is valid until October 6, 2026, at 7:59 AM PT.

Horde Siege PvE Mode Returns

The iconic co-op wave survival mode returns as Horde Siege, reimagined for larger maps and bigger battles. Players form four-player squads and choose from one of four classes: Assault, Marksman, Medic, or Breacher. The mode allows multiple squads to team up for shared objectives and to take on world bosses. Surviving matches earns rewards for unlocking customization options and improving loadouts.

Versus Multiplayer Refined

The Versus PvP multiplayer offers refined 4v4 battles across new maps and fan-favorite modes. Players can choose between climbing ranks in Ranked playlists or jumping into more relaxed Social playlists. The source notes that controls and movement have been modernized for more fluid combat while retaining the series' signature cover-based mechanics, adding jumps, vaults, slides, and flanking maneuvers.

A Darker, Grittier Tone

The developers aim to restore a sense of horror to the series with a darker tone and reimagined enemies. Familiar Locust enemies are described as more threatening, joined by all-new creatures. The world is said to feel more grounded, believable, and dangerous. Fan-favorite weapons return in reimagined forms alongside new weapons designed for close-quarters combat.

The source includes extensive fine print regarding online requirements. Online campaign co-op, Horde Siege, Versus, and the open beta all require a Game Pass subscription that includes online multiplayer, sold separately. The post concludes with a standard health warning about the potential for seizures from flashing lights in video games.
