Activision posted footage of a legal representative delivering a cease-and-desist order to the Ohio home of a Call of Duty cheat seller. The video was shared on the official Call of Duty account on Friday, August 28, 2026, though the legal action itself occurred on August 22 during the Modern Warfare 4 closed beta.

In the roughly one-minute clip, a representative arrives at a house and meets a man whose face is blurred. He hands over paperwork, stating, "I just got some paperwork for you. Attorneys for Activision and, uh, it's a cease-and-desist order for you." The representative instructs the man to contact the attorney's office listed on the documents before leaving.

Activision described the visit as a direct action against cheat sellers.

Target and Claims

The target was Elocarry, a seller whose cheats reportedly extended to games like Rust and Apex Legends. Before the visit, Elocarry had been selling a Black Ops 7 and Warzone cheat pack advertised as safe from RICOCHET detection. Subscriptions for this pack were priced up to £79.99 for three months.

In a follow-up post, Activision shared a screenshot from Elocarry's Discord server. It indicated sales of Call of Duty products had been "temporarily paused" while a "matter" is reviewed internally. The rest of the seller's storefront was said to remain active.

Broader Enforcement Campaign

Activision framed the Ohio visit as one part of a larger operation. The company claimed it has served more than 80 cease-and-desist demands. It also stated it has targeted over 375 reseller operations and shut down more than 30 vendors entirely.

The company issued a warning in its social media thread: "build cheats, sell cheats, we will find you." It promised more litigation for those who do not comply with its demands.

Modern Warfare 4 Beta and Anti-Cheat

Activision used the moment to discuss anti-cheat improvements for the upcoming Modern Warfare 4. The company stated that during the first beta weekend, "infection rates were lower, hardware bans were harder to evade and our time to action improved." It did not provide further detail on these metrics.

The second beta weekend for Modern Warfare 4 is currently underway and is open to everyone. It offers a multiplayer test, a campaign mission, and a Warzone battle royale drop. The first beta session provided five days of multiplayer action and saw high player numbers on Steam, despite being mainly available to those who pre-ordered the game.

Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026. According to the source, the full game will include 12 maps for 6v6 multiplayer, while the beta featured only four. The release platforms are PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
