Microsoft has detailed its plans for a special broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The 'Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast' is scheduled for Thursday, September 17 at 3am PT / 6am ET / 11am UK / 7pm JST.

Hosted by Misuzu Araki, the event will include what Microsoft calls an "exciting lineup of games coming to the platform this year." The company promises TGS-exclusive content, new gameplay reveals, and segments created specifically for the show. The broadcast will also feature American Sign Language (ASL) and English Audio Descriptions (AD).

"Our annual Tokyo Game Show broadcast is proof of what is possible when creativity from across the region meets a truly global platform," a Microsoft statement read. The company added that Xbox is committed to being a stage where both new and beloved franchises reach a worldwide audience.

Expected Games and Appearances

According to IGN's live report, expectations for specific game reveals should be managed. Xbox is showcasing Minecraft Dungeons 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on the TGS show floor itself, making them likely candidates for appearance during the broadcast.

Playground Games' Forza Horizon 6, which is set in Japan, could also receive an update regarding future content. The report speculates this might also be an opportunity to address the status of a potential PlayStation 5 version.

Potential Game Pass Titles

Games from Asian studios with Xbox partnerships are anticipated. RGG Studio's Stranger Than Heaven is confirmed for a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass and may debut a new trailer. Team Ninja's Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, scheduled for an early next-year release and also destined for Game Pass, is another likely candidate for a showing.

The Kojima Question

A major lingering question is whether Hideo Kojima will appear to discuss his project, OD. The IGN report suggests that, given recent developments around his other title Physint, an appearance would be surprising. It remains an open possibility.

IGN will provide live updates beginning approximately 30 minutes before the broadcast starts. The report encourages readers to check back for all announcements as they happen.
