Hela: Of Mice & Magic will launch directly into Xbox Game Pass on December 1, 2026. The game's developers at Knights Peak have detailed its central Brewing & Remedies system, which ties progression directly to exploration and experimentation.

Players take on the role of tiny mouse familiars assisting a witch, exploring landscapes inspired by Northern Sweden. Native plants and magical ingredients found during exploration are brought back to the witch's cottage to be used in brewing. This process is designed as an interactive, hands-on experience rather than a simple menu-based craft.

Every Recipe Is an Experience

Brewing in Hela requires following specific instructions for each recipe. The developers state that no two recipes play the same, combining ingredients with a series of hands-on actions in a specific sequence. The goal was to create an authentic workshop experience where curiosity and experimentation are as vital as gathering the correct components.
