August 2025 Xbox Game Pass Titles

A new weekend brings discounts on several major games and hardware, including Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and the Nintendo

A new weekend has arrived with deals on games and hardware reported by IGN for Saturday, August 29. The discounts cover titles like Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Nintendo Switch 2 and Major Game Discounts

Several key titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 are currently discounted. A physical Day One Edition of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available for $34.99. This version includes an exclusive Zack Fair Magic: The Gathering card.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, described as one of the year's biggest hits, is also on sale. Physical copies are discounted at Woot. IGN's review scored it 7/10, calling it a "deeply funny and equally personal civilization simulator" but criticizing its sharing restrictions.

For those building a physical collection, Woot has The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Switch 2 Edition for $59.99. The review for this edition suggested the performance upgrades make it worthwhile even for owners of the original.

Console and Cross-Platform Deals

The Nintendo Switch 2 console itself is part of the weekend's promotions. A Grade A Refurbished unit is available for $399.99 at Woot. The retailer states these units have minimal cosmetic damage, have passed full diagnostic tests, and include all original accessories. The console is reportedly set to increase in price in a few weeks.

Deals extend to other platforms. Resident Evil Requiem is on sale at Target for $53.99. The game features Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy and has planned future DLC.

On PS5, Nioh 3 is available at Best Buy for $39.99, a $30 saving. IGN's review awarded it a 9/10, praising its "best-in-class combat" and move to an open-world structure.

A physical copy of Civilization VII is $19.99 at Amazon, saving $20. The IGN review gave it a 7/10, noting improved warfare but criticizing an over-simplified interface.

Other Notable Offers

The deals report also highlights a non-gaming item. A LEGO Harry Potter Book Nook set, which builds the Hogwarts Express, is discounted to $76.99 at Amazon from its normal $99.99 price.

A separate offer for a Jurassic World 4K 7-Movie Collection on Blu-ray is listed for $69.99. The collection includes the original Jurassic Park trilogy and the four Jurassic World films. The report was written by freelance writer Noah Hunter.
